We were asked to refurbish this kitchen with minimal spend. The walls are all white tiled so we used a graphite gloss range with slimline polished chrome handles. Each property will have its own characteristics and each will have its own identity with no two properties alike. We wouldn't want it any other way but it adds an extra challenge when we are looking to refurbish these properties.

The main thing is to keep the buildings own identity, it has been around for hundreds of years and will be around hopefully long after we shuffle off, so we have to be sympathetic but we still want a stunning kitchen.

As a designer I would try to incorporate as many of the original features into the design as possible and work with the owner to create a stunning kitchen that not only works for the owners but works for the property too.
